DECEMBER 25, 1999

Fr: Arthur Twohy-Singh

Max I am an old octogenarian now and I am suprised at your spurious accusations. I am sorry to hear about your son Malcolm's suicide as well as your estrangement from your daughter Ann.
My sister was not a well person and the death of her poor, shell-shocked husband shortly after the end of the war only made matters worse.
It is often said that he died from medical complications associated with his years as a prisoner of war. In fact he committed suicide.
There was a persistent rumour of a MacKie family curse and that in every generation at least 1 male member would commit suicide.
