E.BLAIR THOMAS: Schermerhorn Girl from Schenectady

the "city that lights and hauls the world"

Elizabeth Blair Wilhelmina Wiltwyck-Schermerhorn-Thomas
was born February 15 1959 into New York City's Dutch aristocracy, descendants of the city's original settlers; although she was actually born in Tschirky Farm, New Paltz, Ulster County, New York. Her father, Willem Frederik 'Billye' Schermerhorn of the Schermerhorns of Schenectady, grandfather Adolphe Lodewijk 'A.L' Schermerhorn, great-grandfather Jacob Prins Schermerhorn, great-great-grandfather George Isaak Schermerhorn as well great-great-great-grandfather 'Abe' Schermerhorn were all engaged in the shipping industry. After her great grandfather J.P. Schermerhorn got involved with the railroad business, the family moved to Wallkill Valley in 1866 and then to New Paltz in 1870 where Elizabeth (or Blair as she prefers to be called) was born almost 70 years later. In 1977 her father, W. F. 'Billye' Schermerhorn, moved the family to Glen Allen, Virginia, where Blair resides today.
In 1999, at Trinity Church, in Manhattan, New York, in a private ceremony, she married Edward R. Lee-Thomas ll, the automobile. Industry heir and tycoon, and later the same year, after meeting her business partner Lorraine Gwynn, a former Food and Beverage manager from the Caribbean, formed the Lorraine Gwynn Blair Thomas Group of Companies Business Enterprises Co. Ltd., (LGBT-BE), the umbrella company for many other of their jointly owned businesses, ranging from the transportation industry, including the automotive, rail and shipping industry, to the hospitality industries, including the hotel and restaurant industry, as seen in their Meets2Eat trademark; they are most well-known though for their Meats2Eat enterprise and its impact on the entire meat industry, not only in Virginia, but all across the United States and North America, and globally as well, except for Australia a meat market which has resisted their efforts but which they are trying even right now to conquer, especially through the intensive...
