In the South Asia, India is one of the major country, with the 2nd best economic growth rate, it is the fourth largest economy of the world. North-East of India is one of the most beautiful terrain in India. Situated on Lower Himalayan Hilly area, it consists of seven very Beautiful and Natural states. The largest of them is our ASSAM. In Assam, there is a district called NAGAON, and Lumding is the 2nd most urban population in NAGAON district.
It is a Railway township having nearly 80,000 population consists of mainly Bengali Hindu migrants from erstwhile East Pakistan who crosses border during the 1971 Indo-Pak war that ultimately lead to the creation of Bangladesh. There are substantial Assamese population followed by Nepali, Karbi, and Dimasa Populations.
There exist two distinct divisions as Rail Lumding and Civil Lumding. When people first had started to inhabit in this, they were the railway employees of the British government. Railway Government develop this area into a small railway township. But, during '70-'71, the mass exodus of people fron the erstwhile East Pakistan (now it becomes a soverign country named Bangladesh), the number of migrants suddenly increased many folds.
