Dark Rendezvous With a Vampire

The cape, entranced, a bite of romance outside the walls with bludgeoned halls,
night heralds the glen. Its legions of victims from the village knitted below the ridge
quell with the life force necessary for the course of continuing hereafter.
Echoes of laughter rise from below; mortal men do bestow.

But soon they will weep, tho' I will wait until they sleep before I take flight through the moonlit night
to claim my chosen mate. Through the chasm of the village gate
beyond the bluffs and crags and past derelicts decked in rags
up into a window loft will go this gypsy moth to a maiden fair who lies sleeping under moon ray.

The exposed teasing flesh of her linear throat meshed in the moonlight is only a highlight,
denoting the perfection of my to-be beloved one. For what seems to be hours it is I now subdued by her powers
as I survey this perfect fleshen sculpture, pillowed in her human den, warm, soft, radiant, hand without a ring - mine, and only mine for the taking.

Her coven sleeps within these walls, my presence unknown to all
that lay locked in silly dreams. Thus so, it should now seem
that the flawless wench beneath me could be easily taken to see
an endless night of secret things, a romance surpassing human beings'.

I bend to touch skin so warm, that familiar hunger suddenly born,
a surge, racing through my hull - first hitting heartless breast, then anchoring in my skull.

Instinct wanes and with one deft movement she stirs beneath the piercing force, her scent
mingling with mine as I draw her life into me. Slowly she entwines her hands like a lea
around my neck, caressing, encouraging, welcoming me. I pull back, view her, then lean
again into her, giving her back more than the life for I had taken an everlasting dream less the strife of mortals.

Hand in hand we take flight through flapping curtains outlining shadows of the night,
out of the village, past the ridge to the tower silhouetted against a moonlit sky where
me and my requited love will dance a dance of endless romance.
