Just before christmas a letter arrived at the post office addressed simply "TO GOD".
A postal worker opened the letter and read it.
It said " I am an 83 yr old widow and yesterday someone stole my purse.
It had £100 in it all that i had in the world.
I have invited two friends over for christmas dinner, but with no money i cant buy any food. God you are my only hope,PLEASE HELP."

Moved by this the postal worker had a whip round and raised £96. Using an official post office envelope he sent the cash to the old woman.

Just after christmas another letter arrived addressesed "To God".
All the staff gathered round and the postal worker read it out.
"Dear God,thank you for your generosity. I was able to buy my friends a lovely dinner.
I told them of your gift and our vicar is also delighted.
Oh and by the way there was £4 missing.
It must have been those thieving gits at the post office!"
