MASONERIA Y MISTERIOS EN EL PALACIO DE ORIENTE

The site on which the Palacio de Oriente de Madrid has always been associated with strange phenomena: appearances fatal, frightening noises ... But few know that the Plaza de Oriente was part of a Masonic major symbolic.

In the current Royal Palace, built by the Bourbons, it was treasure, as if a small collection of it were puzzles, lots of anomalies and strange occurrences. This magnificent building is located in a privileged site, along the left bank of the River Manzanares (Madrid), right between the Plaza de Oriente and the Campo del Moro.

Although the facts have pursued inexplicable to the various residents of this area, it is worth noting that these "something" would see it, since even monarchs as well as overseas invader Joseph Bonaparte, the popular "Pepe Botella", Napoleon's brother-almighty, he missed time after his proclamation as King of Spain on July 6 1808, to embark on a mysterious project that due to political circumstances, failed to finish. Recall that Joseph Bonaparte was never seen with good eyes, and that its dominance lasted very little. In fact, the history books just released its passage through our country with a few lines bit enlightening. They refer, yes, to him we owe the traces of the original plaza of the East, this figure of great interest.
I know that Joseph held the office of Grand Master in the Freemasons, and that was precisely the driving force in Spain of what has been termed "Freemasonry bonapartista."
The project of the Masonic Square East
According to Joseph A. Ferrer Benimeli in his work History of the Spanish Freemasonry: "The Freemasons Bonaparte in Spain is of great importance, as it is for the first time in our country for the introduction of Freemasonry in a systematic way and on favorable terms, without interference, or prohibitions Either the government or the Inquisition. The fact that the king Joseph Bonaparte the pro and holds the office of Grand Master explains some more influx of Spaniards linked with the government of King `intruder '." But back to the Plaza de Oriente because Bonaparte wanted to tackle something in that field. What exactly? Ignore it because it could not be completed, but there is evidence to believe that he possessed a symbolic nature aimed to recreate what already existed in France. The plaza, despite its name, is located off the facade of this palace. His intention, at least ostensibly, was to give Madrid a few gardens like the Champs Elysees in Paris. Claimed that they came to the square of Cibeles, which felled without concern for what no one had dared to tear down: monasteries, palaces and entire blocks of houses of great artistic value. According to Pedro Montoliú in Madrid, and village court. History of a city: "The architect Sivestre Perez discussed the creation of a large shaft to join the church of San Francisco and the Royal Palace through a viaduct. This priority was to connect in turn to the Puerta del Sol. "

What could symbolize all this? Gives the impression of wanting to reinforce the idea of power. La Puerta del Sol, the center of everything, perhaps the universe, the eye that sees everything, Providence; the Sun, the divine light, the light of truth. The Cibeles, the most powerful goddess, the great MAGA ... Isis. We must remember that within the spirituality Masonic figure of Isis becomes very important. Isis is the widow of Osiris, and the title "children of the widow" in the Masons came in short of it.

Unfortunately, we can never know what would accurately reflect Joseph Bonaparte to this project, but it is very possible that true to his ideas, I wanted to print a new Madrid airs renovators.

Poltergeist in palace
However, there are more mysterious. At the site occupied by the Royal Palace, built by the Arabs also its fortitude (during the domination). Subsequently, the Austria built the Fortress, which was reduced to ashes after a dreadful fire in the Christmas Eve of 1734.

Even before the fire, attributed as the old legends in Madrid to the souls in purgatory, in the Alcazar came followed a sort of strange phenomena are even carved a niche in the chronicles of the time.

Jerome of Barrionuevo, chronicler of the times, as recorded in 1658, in his famous Notices of Old Madrid extraordinary events: Many days he has to be heard in palace coups, breaks, from midnight until the day arrives, and as are coming to them, are going away. Sometimes they are in the tower of the release of the king, others on the clock, who tied at the wheel, and they do not cease to continue starting from the depths of the chapel, with the desvelo and fear of the ladies is great ... Caring for the king is not enough, nor the guards who get less, and noon have been wiggling desktops.

Here, Barrionuevo, seems to be at grips with a phenomenon type Poltergeist, or perhaps haunted house, but in any case, this is not an isolated event, since in that enclave, whether Austrian or Bourbon who resided, strange things seemed to accompany the building, or more properly to the ground as Chairman.

In the same year as the chronicle of the blows that had terrorized the inhabitants of the palace, Barrionuevo again to account for something special. This time occurs at the Church of the Good Event (Hospital was that the Court had its own chapel). There he told a servant of the Duke of Alba to hear Mass, where hero of a meeting that would eventually be fatal: he met a beautiful lady that was not able to remove the eye because of its beauty. However, after the trade, he wanted to get a glimpse and in doing so horrified, she discovered that the face of the lady was none other than that of the same death! The man was so impressed that there fainted and had to be taken to his house, where shortly after giving testimony to what he had seen, died of printing received.
